Each one of us has a role to play in protecting the house sparrow. We must take action to help the birds by raising public awareness. We must build habitats for the house sparrow and initiate conservation drives through simple actions such as:

• Providing water and food regularly
• Switching back to organic gardening
• Planting more native hedges
• Adopting native gardening
• Putting up nest boxes and feeding troughs for house sparrow

World Sparrow Day Secretariat provides its supporters with the opportunity to choose an initiative and encourages simple, achievable actions based on their passions, time and skills to make a difference and prevent the extinction of the house sparrow like the mammoth.
